This 15-foot Watt's Wire extension cord has been a solid addition to my garage toolkit. The 12-gauge construction handles my power-hungry tools easily, and I like that the cord stays flexible even during the cold winter months when using while camping. The three outlets at the end are very useful - I can run multiple items without constantly switching plugs. That said, the storage strap could be more durable IMO.
This Watt's Wire extension cord is good, but could be great. The length is adequate for a variety of projects. I like the lighted end so you can tell the cord is active at the user end. It would be nice to have a light at the end that goes into the receptacle as well so you can tell if the plug is fully inserted and that the outlet is live. The wiring is sturdy, but only rated at 15 amps. For the cost I would expect something rated closer to 20 amps. The hook and loop strap is a nice plus and makes it convenient for hanging the cord in the garage when not in use. If you are looking for a multi-outlet extension cord, you can consider this, but I would also shop around for price. If this product were made in America, I might consider the extra cost worth it. Being made in China it is a different story.
This indoor/outdoor extension cord is top notch quality. The cord is thick and flexible. I love that it functions as both indoor and outdoor and is waterproof and flame resistant. It has a built in power indicator light. I absolutely love that it has three different inputs so I don’t have to have multiple different cords. This worked so well for my outdoor party and will be a game changer for my outdoor Christmas decorations and lights. I highly recommend as it is a great value.
This review is of the Watt's Wire Six-foot, Three Outlet extension cord. This six-foot three-outlet extension cord is a well-crafted accessory to use multiple power tools without having to constantly switch plugs. It weighs just under nineteen ounces. The 12 AWG cord allows you to run a 15-amp circuit at its full capacity of 1875 watts. The plug, receptacle, and cord are all embossed with genuine UL File numbers that I verified on the UL Product IQ database. (They are E221205 for the cord and E203708 for the plug/receptacle if you want to look them up yourself). The plug and receptacle are made of translucent plastic, and you can see the wiring of the color coded hot, neutral, and ground lines. The cord is also embossed with a VW-1 Fire rating. Though sold under the Watt's Wire brand, the cable, plug and receptacles are manufactured by the Longkou Dongli Wire and Cable Company in China. The cable is sturdy and well made. The receptacle end has an orange neon bulb that is easily visible with interior lighting but less distinct in bright sunlight. Straight from its plastic bag, the cord has a noticeable Naphtha odor but that dissipates over time.I've never heard of Watt's Wire prior to receiving this extension cord, but they sell a wide variety of electrical cords in varying lengths and capacities. They get uniformly high ratings on their products and, based on this sample, I concur.
Works as it should. Flexible wire, secure plugging.
Heavy duty
Works well for my purposes.
Thick and heavy duty, good buy.
It works great!
I’m very happy with this cord. The molded triple outlet is handy for running multiple devices while plugged into my generator for tailgating.
Perfect
It work with a light indicator
Short pigtail heavy duty gauge wire with 3 way plug in
Works as expected with no issues.
It work really well.
I used to think that if a plug fit into an extension cord, it must be okay to use for that purpose, regardless of what it was. I’ve changed my mind and my ways, which started when I started building my own extension cord and testing stations. The lower the gauge of the wire, the more heavy duty the extension cord will be - meaning it’ll handle more in the way of power needs. I won’t bore you with details, but a 16/3 extension cord might be fine for your Christmas lights, but you wouldn’t want to run a construction project with that cord. I’d consider 14/3 middle of the road, and for corded power tools and equipment, I use heavy duty 12/3 cords for safety and reliability. When I’m building my own cord, I add a GFCI device between the male plug and the first set of receptacles to ensure the cord and all the devices plugged in are protected. This 2ft cord with 3 female receptacles is perfect for setting up a project outside of the garage. I can plug the cord into a GFCI outlet and then plug in 3 pieces of equipment. I can use one of my extension cords for equipment being used further away. It is a great set up.I tried out my new 2 ft cord on our back patio with a miter saw, air compressor and table saw. We had a scrap wood sawing party and ran the compressor so that it had to restart a couple of times. No failure of any equipment, and the cord didn’t get hot, nor did the GFCI trip. This is a good one!
As much as I hate extension cords, this one is the best match for my use. The 3 way head is convenient, the cord is flexible and it beats walking around with extra unnecessary extension cords laying around on the floor.
Serves it purpose well and does just what it should do. 👍
This is a high quality product for heavy duty.
Good quality, great price. Delivery was quick
