First impressions, the base is very sturdy and not flimsy at all. I’m thinking it’s steel but it has the feel of cast iron. My old one would flop over if you even moved it an inch lol The light itself is bigger than I expected. All of the parts are adjustable. This product would work great for streamers as the phone holster feels great, it bends, locks and seems good quality. Height is very adjustable making it from top to bottom about three feet fully extended. I’m very happy. Only thing I’d minus points for is the fact that it doesn’t come with the brick for the usb plug. That would have been useful! Can’t wait to give it a try. I will update if there’s anything disappointing about this ring light.

Update: The seller reached out and provided instructions with photos for how to fix it, so I upped the star rating as it mostly works how it should now. I do wish the light could be a bit brighter but this is not bad for the price point.--------------------------------------------------------After 1 day of owning it, I was trying to adjust the height and the two threaded plastic pieces popped out. I didn’t see where they came from so I’ve now spent over an hour just trying to reassemble it again. Would be super helpful to have a troubleshooting section in the manual, or at least something to show how these pieces go together. The manual lists the pole as one piece even though it’s 2, plus the silver adjustment piece. Soooo frustrated because now I’m going to either have to return it or just deal with it only being on the shortest setting all the time.

Summary: For the price, this unit does everything I need and works well. I would buy it again.My first impression was "This is the most generic packaging I have ever seen." It is absolutely no-frills. I'm not even certain who the manufacturer is. (See pictures.) But the package did include all the necessary components and they were packed well, with a mostly environmentally materials.My intended uses:1. Document scanning for genealogy hobby.2. Inexpensive lighting platform for taking stable shadow-less cellphone pix of items to sell online.3. Video conferencing without unflattering shadowing.For the first use, it works pretty well. I have a document scanning app on my phone. With this, I was able to scan a 30 page document pretty easily by hand. A little tedious, but saves me the expense and clutter of yet another piece of computer hardware (a flatbed scanner).For the second use, I tested it with my foamboard backdrop and a china saucer. I was able to dial in the light intensity and color temperature fairly well. There were, however, a few challenges. I will note them at the bottom of the review.For the third use, I set the light up for my work area and tested it with my video camera. (See picture). I use a camera that sits on top of my monitor. The light stands just high enough to clear my particular monitor, but anything taller would require something to put the light on top of. Again, I was able to dial in the intensity & color to my liking.As for caveats & drawbacks ...• The base, while heavy, is not large enough. When the light ring is rotated to face downwards, the light tends to tip forward. This is manageable by placing a heavy object on the base.• The little extender in the middle of the light is not like what is shown in the pictures here (as of Nov 2021). It is longer and flexible. I like the flexibility, but not really a fan of the longer length because it puts the clamp offset from the middle of the light.• The clamp, while fairly strong, isn't perfect. I have a Samsung Galaxy S21 phone. When the ring light is horizontal, bumping the clamp can sometimes cause the phone to drop out. Also, because of the placement of my phone's power button, the phone itself can't be centered in the clamp. (More of a phone design issue, than this clamp, but worth noting.)On positive notes, the main arm can rotate 360° so you can secure the base and point the light another direction. The various screw knobs tighten well, so things do stay in place. The camera clamp is on a ball joint, and the extender arm is completely flexible, so there is a great deal of pointing / aiming freedom.Overall, it was a reasonable price, functions well and I would choose this one again.

Simple and easy to use. It is not the most sturdy product but works well if you don't have to move it very often.

It’s good for working from home where you have a lot of remote meetings. The adjustable height is good and the thing is sturdy. The base is great: because the rod is attached at one end of the round base and not in the middle, and you can change the rotation as well as the height, you can adjust whether it’s at the front or back of the base - meaning that you can stick the base under your computer to save space while ensuring it’s still stable. (It’s also stable if it’s just freestanding; the base is heavy enough.)…I think there’s a tripod too but I haven’t used it…I like the range of brightness and the 3 different light temperatures.I recently had to work out of a hotel nearby for a couple of weeks due to construction at home, and this ring light was easy to bring along and set up there because it’s compact and lightweight.

I like this stand! I just wish it would lock better. I guess it could be me and I should figure it out. But overall its nice! Its simple and does what its supposed to.

Does the job. Very easy to put together. It didn't cast as much light as I expected, but it did help. I was surprised I liked the cool setting better than the warm. I have mine behind my monitors - the height just reaches above the monitors so I can tilt it toward my face. Overall very happy with it

Update: revised review - the store reached out to me and offered to send a replacement due to the missing phone mount piece. Customer service was very helpful and polite. Overall I’m impressed.I’m not sure if I got an old return or what, but it did not come with the pictured phone mount piece. It’s completely missing. I love the white color though & sturdy base.

Works perfect for content

My niece says her job interviews were a lot more successful once she started using this light. To date, no problems.

I love this ring light. It’s definitely an improvement over the previous ones. I especially like the extended phone clip. The previous ones would not hold my phone with my phone charger attached. Now I don’t have to remove the charger before mounting it, giving me the option to continue charging my phone while it’s in use. And I love the ball and joint swivel motion in the gooseneck attachment for the phone. Finally, another feature is that the light changes a variety of times giving several options for the perfect kind of lighting. I love it. And the price was very reasonable.

UPDATE: I reached out to customer support regarding the broken light below and they agreed to replace it. Apparently, I had purchased the original light from an Amazon reseller rather than the actual Yarra shop. The one I received as a replacement seems better made, is less bulky and has been working well. I would buy it again. Make sure you are buying from the actual Yarra Shop.Bought this in May and upon arrival and setup the materials seemed cheap and not well made. Have used it once since then and it was ok. Just got it out to set up and use for regular interviews and the light no longer works - it is November now. So six months sitting in a box seems to have killed the light. I wiggled the connector around in the port and the light flickered and would only turn on when pushed in and tilted, not when I let go. So either the port in the light is bad or the cord is bad (cord seems fine). Either way it is nonfunctional and I have never used it.Wish I hadn’t spent the money on this it’s not as nice as it looks. The card says there is a lifetime warranty so we’ll see if that comes through.
